The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has a long history of information visualization research leading to high-impact tools for its customers. The success of PNNL’s information visualization software, such as IN-SPIRE™ and publications in top visualization journals and conference proceedings are the results of PNNL researchers’ dedication to helping people make sense of massive amounts of complex data.
This tool helps you easily browse the over 36,000 issued U.S. patents and published U.S. patent applications for Energy Department-funded technologies.
Tiered categories were created using IN-SPIRE™ developed by the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. The application identifies word occurrence patterns across all patent records, and creates “clusters” of results — and these “clusters” create technology areas. The result is a unique, visual means to easily search the many patents in the Energy Department’s system, and to go beyond a simple key word search.
